The Yes Album is an LP by Yes released on the Atlantic label.

About this album

The Yes Album is the record that helped turn Yes from a promising British rock group into a major progressive force. Released in 1971, it marked a crucial step in the band’s early development, introducing guitarist Steve Howe and sharpening their blend of virtuosic playing, dynamic arrangements and melodic confidence. Songs such as Yours Is No Disgrace and Perpetual Change show the group stretching beyond blues-rooted rock into longer, more adventurous structures, while The Clap highlighted Howe’s instrumental flair. Widely regarded as one of Yes’s essential albums, it set the template for their 1970s identity and influence in prog rock.
