Yazoo – You And Me Both (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU

You And Me Both is an LP by Yazoo released on the Mute, Possum Music label.

About this album

You And Me Both is a sharp, emotionally charged farewell that confirmed Yazoo as one of synth-pop’s most distinctive duos. Issued in 1983, the album arrived after the huge success of Upstairs at Eric’s and became the group’s final studio statement, balancing Vince Clarke’s precise electronic writing with Alison Moyet’s powerful, blues-tinged voice. Songs such as Nobody’s Diary and Mr. Blue show how the duo could turn sleek sequencing and bright pop architecture into something urgent and human. The record helped define early-80s electronic pop by proving that machine-led production could still carry real emotional weight.
