Whitesnake – Lovehunter (VG/VG) – LP, UK 1979

Lovehunter is an LP by Whitesnake from 1979 released on the Sunburst, United Artists Records label.

About this album

Lovehunter finds Whitesnake sharpening their blues-rock formula into lean, swaggering hard rock. Released in 1979, the album arrived as the band were building their reputation beyond Deep Purple connections, with David Coverdale’s soulful, forceful vocals fronting songs that balance blues tradition and arena-sized muscle. Its best-known moments, including Long Way From Home and Walking in the Shadow of the Blues, show a group comfortable with both grit and melody. As an early statement in the Whitesnake catalogue, Lovehunter helped define the sound that would carry the band into the 1980s.
