Wes Montgomery – A Day In The Life (E/E) – LP, JP 1976, No OBI

A Day In The Life is an LP by Wes Montgomery from 1976 released on the A&M Records label.

About this album

A Day In The Life shows Wes Montgomery refining his late-period sound into one of his most accessible jazz albums. Recorded in 1967 and produced by Creed Taylor for A&M, it pairs Montgomery’s fluid, octaves-driven guitar with sophisticated arrangements that bridge soul-jazz and easy listening without dulling his improvisational edge. The title track, alongside versions of contemporary songs such as Eleanor Rigby and Windy, helped bring his style to a broader audience while preserving the lyrical touch that made him one of jazz guitar’s defining voices. It stands as a polished example of his crossover success and enduring melodic authority.
