Studio One is without question the most important label in reggae history. Over fifty years Clement "Sir Coxsone" published Dodd music, his catalogue reads like the Who's Who of Reggae. But besides male superstars like Bob Marley and The Wailers, The Skatalites, Horace Andy, Jackie Mittoo and Burning Spear, many women also shaped the musical face of the label. On "Studio One Women" the renowned label Soul Jazz Records presents the most important female singers. Among others Jennifer Lara, Angela Prince, the very soulful Della Humphrey, The Soulettes discovered by Bob Marley (with Rita Anderson, the later Rita Marley) and of course Jerry Jones, Marcia Griffiths and Hortense Ellis.
