"Garden State" is a tragicomedy written and directed by Zach Braff and stars Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, Ian Holm and Braff himself, was released in 2004.

The film revolves around Andrew Largeman (played by Braff), an actor/waiter in his mid-twenties who moves returns to his hometown in New Jersey. Braff was influenced for the film by his real life circumstances to influence him

"Garden State" was commercial success and still attracts a loyal following Fan base around it. The music used in the film was personally was personally selected by Zach Braff. He commented on his selection: "In the end, I put together a mix a mix CD with all the songs that were the soundtrack to my life Soundtrack to my life when I was writing the script wrote."

The music in the film features a number of indie rock Artists, including The Shins. In an early scene sam (Natalie Portman) hands Andrew a pair of headphones, who plays the song "New Slang" by The Shins and says: ""You gotta hear this one song - it'll change your life; I swear."

Writer, actor and director Braff received a Grammy Award for "Best Compilation Soundtrack For A Motion Picture." The album has now sold over 1, 3 Million copies and has won a platinum award award

Ten years after the original Release it appears for the first time ever on Vinyl! One of the printed inner sleeves features a note Braff wrote in 2014 just for this vinyl release Vinyl release.
