Fair Warning is an LP by Van Halen from 1981 released on the Warner Bros. Records label.
About this album
Fair Warning is Van Halen at their most abrasive and uncompromising, sharpening the band’s hard rock swagger into something darker and more volatile. Released in 1981, the album was produced by Ted Templeman and recorded after the commercial triumphs of Women and Children First and Women and Children First-era momentum, but it pushed back against easy hits in favour of heavier riffs, harsher textures and a more confrontational mood. Eddie Van Halen’s guitar work is especially adventurous throughout, while David Lee Roth’s swagger and the rhythm section keep the songs taut and explosive. It is widely regarded as one of the band’s toughest, most cult-loved albums.
