About this album
Just Like That is a strong roots reggae set from Toots & The Maytals, led by Frederick “Toots” Hibbert’s exuberant voice and the group’s tight rhythmic feel. Issued in 1980, it finds the band refining the blend of ska, reggae and soul that made them one of Jamaica’s most influential acts. The album’s direct, feel-good songs and singalong choruses show why Toots & The Maytals were so central to the rise of reggae on the world stage, with a sound that could be both spirited and spiritually grounded. It remains an engaging snapshot of the band’s enduring impact.
