Teaser is Tommy Bolin’s strongest and most fully realised solo album, a 1975 blues-rock set that showed the young guitarist stretching far beyond hard rock flash. Recorded after his work with Zephyr and the James Gang, it blends heavy riffs, soulful vocals and supple jazz-tinged phrasing across songs such as "The Grind", "Savannah Woman" and the title track. Bolin’s guitar playing is the album’s centrepiece, but the writing is equally important, giving the record a loose, adventurous feel that helped cement his reputation as one of rock’s most distinctive and promising guitarists before his untimely death.
