    About this album

Greetings From L.A. shows Tim Buckley making one of his most striking early-’70s turns, trading folk-rooted understatement for a darker, funkier and more rhythm-driven sound. Released in 1972, the record blends soul-jazz, jazz-rock and pop rock into a lean, provocative set that underlined Buckley’s restless musical range. Songs such as Move With Me and Sweet Surrender point to his growing interest in groove, while the album’s harder edges and late-night mood helped distinguish it from both his earlier work and mainstream rock of the period. It remains a vivid example of an artist pushing past expectation and refusing to stand still.
