About this album
This Modern Glitch is a sharp, hook-heavy step forward for The Wombats, blending indie rock energy with bright pop immediacy. Released in 2011, the album tightened the Liverpool trio’s sound into something more polished and widescreen without losing the nervous wit and anxiety that made them stand out. Built around big choruses, synthesiser flourishes and restless rhythms, it includes signature moments such as Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) and Jump Into the Fog, songs that helped cement the group’s reputation for turning modern unease into anthems. The result is one of their most recognisable and accessible releases.
