Quadrophenia is The Who’s most ambitious statement, a 1973 rock opera that turned Mod culture, alienation and teenage identity into a sweeping hard-rock narrative. Written by Pete Townshend and driven by the band’s full-force dynamics, it follows Jimmy’s fractured search for belonging through songs such as The Real Me, The Punk and the Godfather and 5:15. Coming after Tommy, the album deepened The Who’s reputation for conceptual scale while keeping the hooks, riffs and emotional bite that made them one of rock’s defining groups. Its influence on concept albums and British rock has remained lasting and considerable.
