The Tubes – Young And Rich (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1976

Young And Rich is an LP by The Tubes from 1976 released on the A&M Records label.

About this album

Young And Rich finds The Tubes sharpening their satirical edge into a louder, more theatrical rock statement. Released in 1976, the album built on the band’s reputation for outrageous stagecraft and sharp social commentary, fusing glam swagger with prog rock’s ambition and a hard-edged West Coast sensibility. Songs such as "Proud To Be An American" and "Don't Touch Me There" show their taste for provocation, humour and character sketches, while the album’s elastic arrangements keep the music restless and unpredictable. It stands as one of the most distinctive early examples of American art-rock with a sense of mischief.
