The Stone Roses – Sally Cinnamon (ultra Clear Vinyl)

THE Stone Roses single that established the band's sound and songwriting and got everything rolling, fan favorite anyway. Both versions (7" single mix and slightly longer 12" version) plus both B-sides and live versions.

The complete package as an expanded mini-album of the song first released on FM Revolver in May 1987. OASIS Noel Gallagher explains that the song was responsible for his own career: "When I heard Sally Cinnamon for the first time, I knew what my destiny was."

When the hype surrounding the band began and they released their first singles on the new label Silvertone, FM Revolver re-released the single and a video that the band didn't like, the production of which caused a stir. Furious about the cheap clip and the unapproved release, the band went to the house of FM Revolver label boss Rob Birch, rang him out and threw paint at him. His car, parked outside, also felt the wrath of the Four Roses. All of this was later settled in court in 1990 with fines.

"Sally Cinnamon" itself doesn't mind, with the best of guitar & tweepop, C-86, independent and classic sixties songwriting, it has become a piece of canonized Britpop history.
