The Runaways – The Runaways (E/VG+) – LP, JP 1976, No OBI

The Runaways is an LP by The Runaways from 1976 released on the Mercury label.

About this album

The Runaways is a landmark debut that fused glam swagger, hard-rock riffing and punk urgency into a brash statement of teenage rebellion. Released in 1976, it introduced the Los Angeles band as something rare in rock at the time: an all-female group writing and performing with full-force attitude rather than novelty appeal. Driven by sharp songs such as Cherry Bomb and You Drive Me Wild, the album helped define the band’s raw image and influence later generations of hard rock and punk acts. Its rough-edged energy and defiant stance made it an enduring cult favourite and an important document of women breaking into louder, more aggressive rock territory.
