Out Of Our Heads finds the Rolling Stones refining their rhythm and blues roots into a tougher, more confident rock statement. Issued in 1965, the album blends Chicago blues, soul covers and early Jagger-Richards originals, with Heart of Stone showing the band’s growing strength as songwriters and I’m Free pushing their garage-edge energy. The record also includes I Can’t Get No Satisfaction on some editions, the single that became one of the defining rock songs of the decade and helped propel the Stones from British Invasion favourites to global icons. It remains an important snapshot of the band’s mid-1960s breakthrough.
