    Goat's Head Soup is one of the Rolling Stones’ darkest and most personal 1970s albums. Released in 1973, it pairs the band’s swaggering rock and roll with a more reflective, bruised mood, from the hit single Angie to the snarling Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) and the stormy Winter. Recorded during a turbulent period for the group, the album captures Jagger, Richards, Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts balancing blues rock bite with haunting balladry and groove-driven riffing. Its mix of menace, melancholy and commercial reach made it an important chapter in the Stones’ post-Exile period.
