Recorded during a period of rapid change for British rock, it includes highlights such as Yesterday’s Papers, Connection and Something Happened to Me Yesterday, which reveal Mick Jagger and Keith Richards stretching the group’s sound without losing its swagger. The result is one of the band’s most characterful mid-60s albums, bridging their early R&B attack and the more adventurous work that followed.
