The Records – Shades In Bed (E/VG) – LP, AU 1979

Shades In Bed is an LP by The Records from 1979 released on the Virgin label.

About this album

Shades In Bed is a smart, hook-heavy power pop statement that made The Records one of the style’s defining late-70s names. Released in 1979, it brought crisp guitars, tight melodies and a keen sense of bittersweet romance together in a debut that still feels immediate. Best remembered for the enduring single Starry Eyes, the album balances energy and polish with a melodic instinct that links British pop craft to the punch of punk-era rock. Its compact songs and bright attack helped establish The Records as cult favourites and keep the record in power pop conversations ever since.
