The Fat of the Land is The Prodigy’s breakthrough statement, a ferocious big beat release that turned rave energy into a global crossover phenomenon. Arriving in 1997, it pushed the group beyond the club scene with a harder, more confrontational sound built from breakbeats, distorted riffs and Liam Howlett’s razor-edged production. Driven by landmark cuts such as Firestarter and Breathe, the record helped define late-90s electronic music in the mainstream and became one of the era’s most recognisable British releases. Its mix of aggression, humour and dancefloor force made The Prodigy one of the decade’s most influential electronic acts.
