The Peep Tempel – Tales (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 2014

Tales is an LP by The Peep Tempel from 2014 released on the Wing Sing label.

About this album

Tales is a sharp, hard-driving statement from The Peep Tempel, balancing garage-rock muscle with dry humour and vivid Australian character sketches. Released in 2014, the album sharpened the Melbourne band’s reputation for concise, hook-laden songs built on jagged riffs, taut rhythms and Philip ‘Pip’ Murphy’s sneering, conversational delivery. Its blend of rock ’n’ roll urgency and sharply observed storytelling gave the record a distinctly local voice while keeping the songs immediate and infectious. Across its lean running time, Tales reinforces The Peep Tempel as one of Australia’s most distinctive modern rock bands, equally drawn to menace, wit and momentum.
