About this album
It'll Shine When It Shines is the album that brought The Ozark Mountain Daredevils into wider view, balancing country rock warmth, Southern harmony and pop instinct. Released in 1974, it features the hit “Jackie Blue”, the band’s biggest single and a song that helped define their national profile. The record also shows the group’s loose, rootsy musicianship at its most appealing, moving easily between reflective songwriting and radio-ready hooks. As a second-wave country rock statement, it helped establish the band as one of the genre’s most distinctive Midwestern voices.
