After Midnight is an LP by The Nat King Cole Trio from 2012 released on the WaxTime label.
About this album
After Midnight is one of Nat King Cole’s essential Trio albums, capturing the ease, wit and understated swing that made the group a benchmark in small-combo jazz. Issued in 1957, it draws on the classic Nat King Cole Trio sound: supple piano, tight rhythmic interplay and Cole’s smooth, conversational vocals. The set includes enduring interpretations of standards such as Just You, Just Me, Sweet Lorraine, Caravan and Route 66, showing how the Trio could turn familiar material into something urbane and deeply personal. Long admired for its relaxed authority, the album helped define Cole’s legacy before his full crossover to pop stardom.
