About this album
The Very Best Of Masters Apprentices is a sharp overview of one of Australia’s most important late-60s rock acts, tracing their move from beat-pop beginnings into heavier psychedelic and progressive territory. The Master’s Apprentices built their reputation on strong songcraft and a growing sense of ambition, and this compilation gathers the singles and standout album cuts that made them a major local draw. Songs such as Turn Up Your Radio, Living In A Child’s Dream and Because I Love You helped define the band’s best-known period, balancing harmony, melody and guitar drive in a way that still sounds vital. It is a useful entry point into a band that bridged pop accessibility and harder-edged Australian rock.
