About this album
The Master's Apprentices is a landmark debut that helped define Australia’s mid-1960s rock sound. Released in 1967, it blends garage-rock bite, mod energy and rhythm and blues drive with a strong psychedelic edge, giving the band a distinct voice amid the British-influenced scene. The album shows the group moving confidently between tough, punchy originals and reworked favourites, with songs like “Wars Or Hands Of Time” and “Theme For A Social Climber” reflecting both ambition and momentum. As an early statement from one of Australia’s most important rock groups, it remains a key document of the era.
