The Kinks – Word Of Mouth (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1985

Word Of Mouth is an LP by The Kinks from 1985 released on the Arista label.

About this album

Word Of Mouth finds The Kinks turning late-career pop-rock into sharp, resilient songwriting. Released in 1984, the album reflects the band’s renewed focus in the mid-’80s, pairing Ray Davies’s wry social observation with big, immediate hooks and a tougher contemporary edge. Built around songs such as 'Do It Again' and the much-admired 'Living On A Thin Line', it became one of the group’s most respected later-period albums. The record shows The Kinks balancing melody, satire and hard-earned perspective, proving they still had plenty to say after two decades at the centre of British rock.
