Released in 1972, the album shows the Boston group sharpening its mix of blues rock and rock & roll into a hard-driving stage attack, with swaggering versions of songs such as "First I Look at the Purse" and "Whammer Jammer". Recorded at the Cinderella Ballroom in Massachusetts and produced by the band with Sam Pfezer, it helped establish their reputation as one of the most exciting American live acts of the era. The record’s tight musicianship and raw energy made it a key release in the band’s early catalogue.
