    Mean Business finds The Firm leaning further into compact, hard-rock muscle on their second album. Released in 1986, the record sharpened the bluesy power of the Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers-led supergroup into a more direct, riff-driven sound, with tracks such as “Fortune Hunter” and “All The Kings Horses” showing a tougher edge than their debut. It was recorded with the line-up of Page, Rodgers, bassist Tony Franklin and drummer Chris Slade, and reflects a band still balancing classic rock pedigree with the slicker production and bigger hooks of the mid-1980s. The album remains a key document of the group’s brief run.
