About this album
Morricone’s music for Sergio Leone’s first two Dollars films is a landmark in screen composition, turning the Western score into something slyer, stranger and instantly unforgettable. Per Qualche Dollaro In Più / Per Un Pugno Di Dollari gathers themes from For a Few Dollars More and A Fistful of Dollars, where whistling motifs, twanging guitar, choir and orchestral tension replace the old Hollywood frontier sound. Issued in 1966, the album helped define the Spaghetti Western style and remains one of Morricone’s most influential and recognisable works, with themes that gave Leone’s films their harsh, ironic pulse.
