    Live At The Hollywood Bowl captures The Doors at full force in late 1968, when their psychedelic rock had become heavier, sharper and more theatrical onstage. Recorded at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl and issued in 1987, the set preserves Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore before a huge hometown crowd, running through signatures such as Light My Fire, The Unknown Soldier and Spanish Caravan. The performance underlines the group’s ability to turn studio material into something more volatile and immediate, with Morrison’s command and the band’s improvisation giving the concert a raw, historic edge. It remains a vivid document of one of rock’s most distinctive live acts.
