Love is an LP by The Cult from 1986 released on the Beggars Banquet, Virgin label.

About this album

Love is The Cult’s breakthrough album, a record that sharpened the band’s gothic roots into a bigger, harder and more accessible sound. Released in 1985, it balanced shadowy atmosphere with driving riffs and Ian Astbury’s commanding vocals, helping push the group beyond the UK post-punk scene into wider alternative rock recognition. Produced by Steve Brown, the album became best known for She Sells Sanctuary, one of the band’s signature songs and a lasting staple of 1980s rock. Love also includes tracks such as Rain and Revolution, which show the band’s range from urgent momentum to darker, more expansive moments.
