The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East is an LP by The Allman Brothers Band from 1971 released on the Atlantic label.
About this album
At Fillmore East is the Allman Brothers Band’s defining live statement, a benchmark for Southern rock and electric blues in full flight. Recorded at New York’s Fillmore East in 1971 and released that same year, it turned long-form improvisation, twin-guitar interplay and hard-edged blues feeling into a remarkably cohesive double album. With revelatory versions of ‘Statesboro Blues’, ‘Stormy Monday’ and ‘Whipping Post’, the record showed how the group could stretch songs without losing tension or emotional force. Its critical standing and enduring influence have made it one of the great live albums of the rock era.
