Strawbs – Hero And Heroine (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1974

Hero And Heroine is an LP by Strawbs from 1974 released on the A&M Records label.

About this album

Hero And Heroine is Strawbs at their most ambitious, fusing folk roots with full-blooded progressive rock and symphonic sweep. Released in 1974, the album marked a strong statement from a band already known for stretching British folk rock into more dramatic territory. Its mix of reflective songwriting, rich keyboard textures and sharply arranged ensemble passages gives the record both scale and emotional directness. The title track and 'Shine On Silver Sun' helped define its reputation, while the album as a whole is widely regarded as one of Strawbs’ key achievements and a high point of 1970s prog-folk.
