Journey Through The Secret Life Of Plants = シークレット・ライフ is an LP by Stevie Wonder released on the Motown label.
About this album
Stevie Wonder’s Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants is one of his most adventurous late-1970s statements, a wide-ranging concept album that pushes beyond the radio-ready soul of his classic run. Released in 1979 as the soundtrack to a documentary about plant life, it blends funk, jazz, electronic colour and pastoral mood into an unconventional suite of instrumental and vocal pieces. Wonder produced the album himself, shaping it as an immersive meditation rather than a conventional hit set. Though more divisive than his landmark 1970s records, it remains a key part of his catalogue for its ambition, texture and willingness to explore new sonic territory.
