Innervisions is widely regarded as one of Stevie Wonder’s greatest albums, a 1973 peak where his songwriting, musicianship and social vision came fully into focus. Built around songs such as Living for the City, Higher Ground and Don’t You Worry ’Bout a Thing, it moves easily between restless funk, aching soul and sharp political observation. Wonder wrote, produced and performed much of the record himself, giving it a remarkably unified sound and purpose. Its blend of melodic brilliance, rhythmic invention and moral urgency helped define his classic early-1970s run and secured the album’s place as a touchstone of modern soul.
