Anthology is an LP by Steve Miller Band from 1973 released on the Capitol Records label.
About this album
Anthology is a strong early Steve Miller Band compilation, tracing the group’s move from blues-rock experimentation towards the cleaner, more melodic sound that made them a classic rock fixture. Drawn from material associated with the band's late-1960s and early-1970s period, it highlights the shift from psychedelic and blues-rooted textures to tighter hooks and more streamlined songwriting. Songs such as Space Cowboy and Living in the U.S.A. help show how the band balanced adventurous playing with an ear for radio-friendly appeal. As a snapshot of the group’s development, it remains a useful entry point into their catalogue.
