Stephen Stills – Stephen Stills (VG+/VG) – LP, US 1970

Stephen Stills is an LP by Stephen Stills from 1970 released on the Atlantic label.

About this album

Stephen Stills is a strong solo debut that translated his work with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills & Nash into a more personal, guitar-led statement. Released in 1970, it pairs West Coast pop-rock melody with folk, country and blues elements, and is anchored by Love the One You’re With, his best-known solo hit. The album’s range also reflects Stills’ multi-instrumental craft and studio ambition, with contributions from notable guests including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr. Its mix of accessible songwriting and instrumental detail helped establish Stills as more than a superb collaborator: he was a major artist in his own right.
