For ten years, Spike Fuck has existed more as a chaotic myth than as an artist—sporadic works that always hover on the brink of triumph, rumours of death or madness, and so on.

Spike’s mission is to distill the sacred and the profane, thereby harmonizing the melancholy and humour of life; “to be alive is to be traumatized.” Fortunately, enthusiasm for his music has endured, sustained, in a sense, by his unpredictability and aloofness. This inexplicable affection for his artistic work may be due in part to Spike’s timeless, pain-filled, and confessional lyrics, but above all to the fragility of a life mired in addiction.
