    About this album

Vol. II (1990 - A New Decade) is a defining Soul II Soul album, balancing club-ready grooves with polished soul, jazz and reggae influences. Arriving at the start of a new decade, it built on the group’s breakthrough sound while pushing further into conscious lyrics, smooth vocal interplay and refined production. Best known for the hit Get A Life, the album helped cement Soul II Soul’s role in shaping British black music and the wider acid jazz and contemporary R&B landscape. Its mix of dancefloor energy and thoughtful mood made it one of the era’s most distinctive crossover releases.
