Greener Postures is a sharp, off-kilter art-rock statement from Snakefinger. Released in 1980, the album draws on rock, electronic textures and avant-garde experimentation to frame Philip Charles Lithman’s jagged guitar ideas and deadpan wit. Working within the orbit of the Residents, Snakefinger turned unusual song structures and surreal storytelling into something both eccentric and memorably tuneful. Songs such as “The Man In The Dark Sedan” and “Save Me From Dali” underline the record’s mix of invention, humour and unease, making it one of the most distinctive cult albums of its era.
