Skee Mask & North Americans' Final Circle brings together two artists from strikingly different corners of contemporary music: Munich producer Bryan Müller, best known as Skee Mask, and Patrick McDermott's ambient country-folk project North Americans. Released by City Slang in 2026, the album frames that unlikely pairing as a focused meeting point between electronic composition and slow-moving guitar drone rather than a novelty crossover.
Müller arrives here after more than a decade shaping hazy techno, breakbeat, dub and jungle into widely praised records including Compro and Resort. McDermott brings a very different vocabulary, with spacious, meditative textures that unfold patiently over time. On Final Circle, those approaches lock together through rhythmic electronic detail, open-ended guitar passages and a strong sense of atmosphere, repetition and restraint.
What makes the record especially appealing is how deliberately it avoids easy contrast. Some source notes describe Skee Mask's usual club-facing intensity as largely set aside here, with subtle ambient electronics supporting North Americans' expansive drones. The result sounds calm but carefully structured: a collaborative album built on tension, texture and patient movement, where both artists meet on shared ground rather than simply alternating styles.
