Shango is an LP by Santana from 1982 released on the CBS label.

About this album

Shangó shows Santana refining his Latin-rock blend into a sleek early-1980s album with real melodic force. Released in 1982, it folds jazz-rock, Latin jazz, blues rock and fusion into a compact set that balances percussion-driven drive with Carlos Santana’s fluid guitar lines. The title track, alongside pieces such as 'Hold On' and 'Nueva York', points to a band still drawing on Afro-Latin rhythms while keeping one foot in mainstream rock. Coming after a long run of ambitious, style-crossing records, Shangó confirms Santana’s ability to make rhythmic complexity sound immediate and accessible.
