Santana – Inner Secrets (VG+/VG) – LP, JP 1978, With OBI

Inner Secrets is an LP by Santana from 1978 released on the CBS/Sony label.

About this album

Inner Secrets shows Santana leaning into a leaner, more radio-ready blend of pop rock and funk without losing the band’s Latin-rooted identity. Released in 1978, it followed a string of ambitious and spiritually inclined albums by focussing on concise songs, strong hooks and a tighter rhythmic drive. The set includes the well-known cover of Stormy alongside originals that balance guitar lines, keyboards and percussive momentum, giving the record a polished late-1970s feel. For listeners tracing Santana’s evolution, it is a useful snapshot of the group adapting its sound to the era while keeping Carlos Santana’s melodic guitar at the centre.
