The Best Of Sam Cooke is an LP by Sam Cooke from 1975 released on the RCA Camden label.
About this album
The Best Of Sam Cooke is a defining early compilation that captures the singer at the point where gospel feeling, pop polish and rhythm and blues power met. Issued in 1962, it gathers the songs that turned Cooke into a crossover star, including You Send Me, Wonderful World, Chain Gang, Cupid and Twistin' The Night Away. Across these recordings, his effortless tenor and poised phrasing helped shape the sound of early soul while keeping the music firmly in the mainstream. As an overview of his prime years, the set shows why Cooke became one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century.
