Roy Buchanan – Loading Zone (VG+/VG+) – LP, AU 1977

Loading Zone is an LP by Roy Buchanan from 1977 released on the Polydor label.

About this album

Loading Zone shows Roy Buchanan sharpening his blues-rock attack into a tighter, harder-edged statement. Issued in 1977, the album finds the celebrated guitarist moving between raw instrumental fire and leaner song-based material, with his distinctive touch carrying everything from the rolling groove of Green Onions to the folk-tale drama of The Adventures Of Brer Rabbit And Tar Baby. Buchanan’s tone remains the point of gravity throughout: expressive, biting and instantly recognisable. As a late-1970s entry in his catalogue, Loading Zone underlines why he was admired by fellow guitarists and by listeners drawn to blues playing that could be both technically dazzling and emotionally direct.
