About this album

Throbbing Python of Love shows Robin Williams at his most frenetic and inventive, turning stand-up into a whirlwind of voices, characters and rapid-fire improvisation. Issued in 1983, the set draws on his breakthrough early-’80s comedy style, where pop culture, politics and surreal observations collide at speed. Williams’s manic energy and uncanny vocal agility make the album a vivid document of a performer who could move from broad satire to razor-edged mimicry in seconds. For listeners, it stands as one of the clearest recordings of his early comic persona and the fearless, elastic delivery that made him a major live attraction.
