Unlimited Love is a strong late-period Red Hot Chili Peppers album, reuniting the band with guitarist John Frusciante and sharpening their blend of funk, melody and reflective alt-rock. Produced by Rick Rubin and released in 2022, it is the group’s twelfth studio album and their first with Frusciante since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium. Lead single Black Summer signalled a more expansive, melodic approach, while the record moves between tight groove-driven cuts and broader, more contemplative songwriting. It topped the charts in several countries and confirmed the band’s ability to refresh a familiar sound without losing their identity.
