Randy Crawford – Abstract Emotions (E/VG+) – LP, AU

Abstract Emotions is an LP by Randy Crawford released on the Warner Bros. Records label.

About this album

Abstract Emotions shows Randy Crawford refining her elegant mix of soul, funk and pop sophistication in the mid-1980s. Released in 1986, the album leans into polished electronic textures and disco-inflected rhythms while keeping Crawford’s rich, controlled vocal style at the centre. Its best-known moment, the ballad 'Almaz', became one of her signature songs and highlighted her gift for emotional understatement rather than vocal grandstanding. Balancing dance-floor sheen with slow-burn intimacy, the album captures an artist adapting smoothly to the decade’s production trends without losing her distinctive identity.
