Hail To The Thief is one of Radiohead’s most restless and politically charged albums, sharpening their blend of alternative rock and electronic experiment. Released in 2003, it arrived after Kid A and Amnesiac and found the band folding fractured rhythms, uneasy melodies and guitar-driven urgency into songs such as 2 + 2 = 5 and There There. The result is a tense, sharply observed record that reflects the climate of its era while still feeling unmistakably Radiohead. Its mix of noise, melody and atmosphere helped confirm the band as one of the most adventurous major acts of the 2000s.
