Radios Appear is Radio Birdman’s defining statement and one of the key Australian punk albums of the 1970s. Issued in 1977, it fused the ferocity of late-’60s Detroit rock with the speed and danger of punk, giving the band a sound that felt both literate and combustible. The record’s blend of garage bite, hard-rock muscle and outsider swagger helped set Radio Birdman apart from their contemporaries, and songs such as T.V.
